Who can Drink from the Pure Depth of the Spirit of Life

The Prophet Isaiah, in Chapter 55, wrote about what some call the number one issue of practicing spirituality, which is God's grace, or the generosity of God.  The question addressed, is who has access, and who can drink of the water which is the Spirit of Life?  ALL who are thirsty. And who can be fed at God's incredible feast?  ALL who are hungry.

02.23.16  Listen to The Mockingbird

Mockingbirds are best known for the habit of mimicking the songs of other birds and the sounds of insects and amphibians, often loudly and in rapid succession. (Wikipedia)

Valentines Masquerade Ball

Imagine my surprise for winning “Best Dressed Couple” award at the Symphony FundraiserValentine's Masquerade Ball, when we didn’t even know there was a contest.  We hadn’t planned to attend the event at all until given tickets from a friend.  It has just always been fun to dress up so this was a good occasion to wear one of the special outfits I’ve saved for the last 30 years.

02.10.16 From Glowing to Glowing

02.08.16    From Glowing to Glowing

The glow of the setting sun on our favorite city
can give a feeling of being right in the space and
time where we are suppose to be. At home, right there,
in the place where the world seems just all right, and we
know that is where we belong.  The sense that all is well bubbles forth from our soul, and wants to be shared. The February hearts and flower valentine greetings inspire our expressions of  love and caring to most everyone and everything around.

01.31.16. Bring Good News

01.31.16       "Bring Good News”

01.19.16 Paradigm Shift, or "Who do You Think You Are?"

01.18.16      Paradigm Shift, or "Who do You Think You Are?"

What do you like, What do you do?

From the moment I was asked by my current ministry Supervisor in 2015 to travel to a distant city for participation in a psychological evaluation, I said, “Oh Good, I would love to.”  This was requested of all of us who are lay clergy, so I thought nothing of it. Besides, during 25 years as a mental health professional, I had gotten guidance counseling, but never undergone a formal assessment of myself.  I looked forward to finding out what the testing would be like, and what it might say about me.

01.14.16 Friendship for Happiness

01.14.16   Friendship and Happiness

Time Together

Today my word for focused attention was friendship.  Today's coincidences were arriving at work to be greeted by my friend there with gifts of favorite hand-me-down outfits, and to have schedule changes synchronize perfectly allowing me to accompany my husband for his medical procedure.  Going to the doctor to maintain health with the goal of prevention provides a good reminder of the need for acting on the intention to stay strong, keep active, and enjoy life even more every year. Friendship helps.

01.12.2016. Guidance for Gratitude

01.11.2016 Learning to Listen to Inner Guidance

Wisdom within Reach

Guidance from Grandma author, wants to learn how to listen to Guidance from Grandma in order to be able to share more openly the messages and daily life lessons gained from routine experience. An awareness of the learning and growing process can turn the common into the uncommon, and with a desire to share for the benefit of others, can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.  That can make every day's activity rewarding.

01.04.2016 Live Like the Gate Was Left Open

01.04.2016   “Live Like the Gate Was Left Open”

"Live like the gate was left open," sounds like not having a care in the world, enjoying boundless energy and limitless freedom.  Getting out of the gate can surely be exciting.  However, watching liberated critters is another story, when there is risk of a stampede, like during this afternoon’s snow.

01.01.2016 New Year's Eve Waiting for Police to Come

01.01.2016      “New Year’s Eve Waiting for the Police to Come”

Yesterday, on New Year’s Eve morning 2015, I headed off for work, marveling as I usually do, at the peaceful lifestyle we currently enjoy.  In the stillness of the freezing crisp early morning air, the openness of the valley was like a picture framed by snow covered mountains merging into the clouds against the background of clear light blue sky.  My first fascination with this place was because of the qualities of clean air, pure water, friendly people, and even during these deep snowy seasons of winter, the sun shines more days than not.
