01.19.16 Paradigm Shift, or "Who do You Think You Are?"

01.18.16      Paradigm Shift, or "Who do You Think You Are?"

What do you like, What do you do?

From the moment I was asked by my current ministry Supervisor in 2015 to travel to a distant city for participation in a psychological evaluation, I said, “Oh Good, I would love to.”  This was requested of all of us who are lay clergy, so I thought nothing of it. Besides, during 25 years as a mental health professional, I had gotten guidance counseling, but never undergone a formal assessment of myself.  I looked forward to finding out what the testing would be like, and what it might say about me.

01.14.16 Friendship for Happiness

01.14.16   Friendship and Happiness

Time Together

Today my word for focused attention was friendship.  Today's coincidences were arriving at work to be greeted by my friend there with gifts of favorite hand-me-down outfits, and to have schedule changes synchronize perfectly allowing me to accompany my husband for his medical procedure.  Going to the doctor to maintain health with the goal of prevention provides a good reminder of the need for acting on the intention to stay strong, keep active, and enjoy life even more every year. Friendship helps.

01.12.2016. Guidance for Gratitude

01.11.2016 Learning to Listen to Inner Guidance

Wisdom within Reach

Guidance from Grandma author, wants to learn how to listen to Guidance from Grandma in order to be able to share more openly the messages and daily life lessons gained from routine experience. An awareness of the learning and growing process can turn the common into the uncommon, and with a desire to share for the benefit of others, can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.  That can make every day's activity rewarding.

01.04.2016 Live Like the Gate Was Left Open

01.04.2016   “Live Like the Gate Was Left Open”

"Live like the gate was left open," sounds like not having a care in the world, enjoying boundless energy and limitless freedom.  Getting out of the gate can surely be exciting.  However, watching liberated critters is another story, when there is risk of a stampede, like during this afternoon’s snow.

01.01.2016 New Year's Eve Waiting for Police to Come

01.01.2016      “New Year’s Eve Waiting for the Police to Come”

Yesterday, on New Year’s Eve morning 2015, I headed off for work, marveling as I usually do, at the peaceful lifestyle we currently enjoy.  In the stillness of the freezing crisp early morning air, the openness of the valley was like a picture framed by snow covered mountains merging into the clouds against the background of clear light blue sky.  My first fascination with this place was because of the qualities of clean air, pure water, friendly people, and even during these deep snowy seasons of winter, the sun shines more days than not.
